7 artwork programmes, 1 material language. Across the reception, restaurants, bar and rooms I directed and hand-finished a suite of site-specific pieces for Red River Retreat _ fibre and cane sculpture, bell-metal reliefs, woven bamboo and framed photography _ each one drawn from Assamese textile and craft traditions rather than sitting apart from them, the way the resort's own architecture does.

Six hand-sculpted reliefs of Sattriya dance mudras line the reception corridor, each cast with an integrated tealight holder so the row reads differently by evening light.

FRP Gamusa Sculpture · Cane & Meteka Foliage
A large-scale fibre installation anchors the reception desk_ hand-worked gamosa sculpture integrated with meteka work, cane orchid sculptures and cane paan-leaf details, a first read of Assamese textile heritage and Assam's state flower as guests check in.
03Kaah Aru Kaziranga _ Jakoi, the Traditional Assamese Restaurant

Six bell-metal plates, cast in the everyday shape of a kaah thali, carry six birds native to Kaziranga_ Great Indian Hornbill, White-bellied Heron, Ruddy Shelduck, Greater Adjutant Stork, Pallas's Fish Eagle, Bengal Florican_ the thali every Assamese kitchen keeps, holding the park's own wildlife on the wall of Jakoi, the resort's Assamese restaurant.
04Royal Flush _ Joha Brew, the Bar

Six playing cards reimagined for the bar — court figures and suits redrawn as cocktail glasses and kettles, hand-finished in a red sandstone texture and mounted as a single deck on the wall.
05Chai Tokari, the Cafe cum Souvenir Shop
Meteka Orchids · Woven Wall Hangings
Woven meteka orchid forms and traditional Naga wall hangings run through the café and the souvenir shop_ the hangings are runners pulled straight from the shop's own shelves, sold as textile and shown here as art_ a quieter, tactile counterpart to the reception's fibre work, built from the same material vocabulary.

Bamboo Weave · Floating Frame · Light Wood
Contemporary bamboo-weave panels, framed light and floating off the wall, bring Assam's basketry traditions into the guest rooms as abstract pattern rather than craft object.

Monochrome B&W photography of Assam's river bodies for the bathrooms, and woven-pattern digital artworks for the rooms_ framed simply in light wood, closing out the room art programme on a contemporary note.
